Finance I: Speaker Biographies

Students, we have posted the speaker biographies for this week's class. Once again, we are ecstatic to let you know that this week's speakers are world-class executives who you should certainly listen to.

Pam Randhawa, VP Strategic Development, Sermo

Pam Randhawa draws from over 14 years of experience in the healthcare and life sciences industries. Having worked in product management, consulting, business development, and marketing, her specialized knowledge of market analysis, strategic planning, business development and product management enables her to successfully guide new product evolution and strategic development at Sermo. In her current role as Vice President of Strategic Development, Ms. Randhawa is responsible for identifying and developing new markets for Sermo solutions. In addition, Ms. Randhawa will be focusing on the expansion of Sermo solutions to international markets. Prior to joining Sermo, Ms. Randhawa served as Vice President of Marketing at Phase Forward, where she was responsible for the planning and execution of the company's global marketing strategy. During her tenure, Ms. Randhawa contributed to the company's market cap growth from just over $225 million in 2005 to over $900 million in 2007, with sales growth over 50 percent, year over year. Ms. Randhawa currently serves on the Advisory Boards of several startups, including: e-Tractions, a provider of web- based marketing solutions; Cognika, a provider of machine learning and advanced analytical software solutions; and GlobalCures, a nonprofit pharmaceutical organization focusing on cancer therapies. Ms. Randhawa holds a Bachelors Degree in economics from the University of Rajasthan, India, and a Masters Degree in public management from Carnegie Mellon University.

Anurag Pandit, Founder and Managing Partner, Lexicon Management

Anurag is the Founder and Managing Partner of Lexicon Management, a hedge fund manager. Prior to Lexicon, he was a Senior Vice-President and Portfolio Manager of five John Hancock Funds, managing approximately $1.5 Billion. Anurag frequently appeared in the financial press including TV shows such as CNBC, CNN fn, Bloomberg News, and the New England Cable News Network. He is also quoted in national financial journals such as the Wall Street Journal and Businessweek as well regional publications such as the Arizona Republic. Prior to joining John Hancock in 1996, Anurag was a Vice President at Loomis Sayles & Company since 1992. As an Equity Analyst, he analyzed the Electric Utilities, Transportation, Media and Entertainment and Pharmaceutical industries. Anurag also worked as a corporate finance professional at the Bank of Boston structuring loan syndications, private debt placements and cross currency interest rate swaps to hedge international investments. Anurag earned a Master of Science in Management from M.I.T’s Sloan School of Management and a Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce (Honours) from the University of Delhi in India. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (C.F.A). An avid sportsman, he enjoys tennis, squash, golf and swimming.
