Live from Business Models & Law

Thanks to Gautam Gupta and Bill Loginov for coming to class to teach on the subjects of business models and law. We've embedded their bios and presentations below, and as always, have posted the class agenda and teaching materials on the social network.

• Gautam Gupta, Associate, General Catalyst Partners

Gautam joined General Catalyst from Procter and Gamble, where he analyzed brand strategy and consumer preferences in the Consumer Market Knowledge group of Procter and Gamble's North American Fabric Care business unit. Prior to that, he worked closely with the sales and marketing groups at Wireless Services Corporation and CTV Live on Campus, during his studies at Babson College. At General Catalyst, Gautam focuses on investments in new and existing technology businesses. Gautam received a B.S. in Business Administration from Babson College, with a concentration in
Entrepreneurial Studies.


• William A. Loginov, Principal Attorney, Loginov & Associates, PLLC

With over 20 years of experience in field of intellectual property law, Bill Loginov is a registered patent attorney who specializes in the laws and processes for securing world-wide patent protection. Before establishing his own firm, he was Managing Partner of the Boston intellectual property firm, Cesari and McKenna, LLP, and subsequently head of the Patent Group at the New England firm Hinckley, Allen and Snyder, LLP. ted to the bars of New Hampshire, Massachusetts and before the US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), his practice focuses on representation of clients before the USPTO in preparation and prosecution of patents and trademarks, as well as the preparation of due diligence studies, performing patent infringement analysis, and rendering patentability opinions for clients in a number of technical fields including the mechanical arts, medical devices, materials, electro-mechanical systems, electronics and computer software and methods. He has substantial experience in securing and the enforcement of patent rights world-wide, and works closely with a number of US-based and international patent litigation attorneys. He also advises and represents clients in the areas of trade secrets, licensing of intellectual property, artists representation and related matters. His clients represent a wide range of public and private corporations, leading research universities and hospitals, start-up enterprises and entrepreneurial individuals. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from Dartmouth College in 1985 and his Juris Doctor from the Cornell Law School in 1988. Bill is a frequent guest lecturer on intellectual property matters at the Dartmouth Tuck School of Business and Thayer School of Engineering as well as the Rhode Island School of Design. He has authored numerous articles on intellectual property, and coauthored two recent books on intellectual property issues available through the Aspertore label of West Publishing and is conversant in the Russian language.
