Well done with this video and the good work you are doing with TYE. It makes complete sense for TiE to support younger entrepreneurs.
Our mission is to inspire and empower today's youth to be entrepreneurs, by engaging them in an exciting mix of programs that include instruction, mentoring and pitch sessions, that are designed to inspire innovation, team building, and business acumen and that foster soft skills and well-rounded life capabilities including self-confidence, communication, and leadership.
TYE was started in 2005 as part of the educational branch of TiE-Boston. TYE strives to help young people learn to be entrepreneurs while discovering the rewards and excitement of developing an idea into a viable and scalable business. All participants are given the opportunity to present their business plan to a panel of judges, who are world class VCs and entrepreneurs from the Boston area, in efforts to win a $10k prize.
About the TYE Program
The program provides a six month curriculum, which includes 3 months of classroom instruction followed by 3 months of workshops. Students meet on Saturdays. The classes include inspirational speeches by successful entrepreneurs followed by lecture and interactive discussion on business related topics. Workshops are designed to help students practice how to present their business plan and develop soft skills. To prepare for the final competition, each participating team receives mentoring support from one dedicated mentor.
